Atonement, Colored pencil over an unfinished watercolor painting, 21" x 14"

Almost finished, just needs a little refinement, especially in the background and the highlights and shadows on the figure.

In the middle of the process, ready to add more to the background and begin the process of refining.

At the beginning of the process, superimposing the figure over the unfinished watercolor painting.

Value study, 8 x 10.  This is the value study for a painting.  I painted this in Anne Hightower-Patterson's workshop.  I finished it more as a small painting taking more time than I would typically take for a study.

Color study, 8 x 10.  This is the color study for a painting.  I painted this in Anne Hightower-Patterson's workshop.  I finished it more as a small painting taking more time than I would typically take for a study.

This is the start of a quarter sheet painting after the first 2 passes.  I used masking before the first wash and before the second wash.  After what I learned from the two studies I am approaching the painting differently than I had planned.

State Mural

Mural - 4 prepared 4' x 8' aluminum panels painted with exterior house paint.  Total size 8' high by 16' wide.  **The panels were photographed individually in poor lightening conditions so things are not quite the right value, color and do not line up correctly in the photos.  But this gives you a decent idea of how it looks overall.
