This was how this piece started - as a monochromatic painting.  Watercolor on watercolor paper, 29.5 x 21.5.

This is the piece after the first pass with Egg Tempera paint over the casein under-painting.  I used only 3 colors so far (a red, yellow, and blue of course).

Under-painting for an Egg Tempera painting.  This was done with black and white Casein paint on a watercolor board.  I am in the process of learning egg temper - it's fascinating!
